Mission – This an initiative to create a portal between Voluntary blood donors & those who are in need of blood donors for an easy, genuine & quick access to donors in times of need. Also with the purpose to combat the menace of professional/illegal blood donations & selling of blood. We all see requests for blood donors, at times in emergency & at times for planned surgrical intervention. What we fail to realize is how difficult it is to find the donor of required blood groups when needed. This difficulty arises due to factors – There are 6 major blood types found in human beings – A+, B+, O+, AB+, A-, B-,O- AB-. Amongst these O – can donate blood to any blood group, while O+ can donate to any of the positive blood types. AB+ can receive from blood from any of the blood types & AB- from any of he negative blood types. Read More
Instructions
Donors are advised to donate in Institutions only, preferably after confirming with the doctors or other reliable hospital authorities, so that the blood that they donate is not misused for selling by wrong elements. In case they find any such seekers, they’r advised to report back to the site, so that we can alert the rest of our users. Also the donors need to keep in mind a few pre- requisites that are required before blood donations & though these vary from hospital to hospital, the common one’s are – Age 18-60 yrs ( if <18 then consent is needed) Hb levels - 12.5 mg/dl or more. There are minimum height & weight requirements nt less than 45 kg in women & 55kg in men (the weight & height criteria may vary from institution to institution) BP between 110/60 - 140/90 Pulse – 80-100 bpm should be regular.
